Big Burrito’s promotion goes Mad

big burritoStarting as part of a plan to expand the Cinco de Mayo holiday attention beyond the 5th May Clovis Young launched the Big Burrito. What wasn’t expected that powered by social media the campaign would sell in excess of 4,500 Big Burrito’s during the month of May, making the campaign the most successful since the companies launch.

The promotion offered consumers a doubled size Burrito filled with double the standard portion and wrapped in two tortillas weighin in close to 1 kilogram. To draw more attention to the campaign all those who managed to finish the Big Burrito were offered a special edition t-shirt and featured in their Facebook hall of fame album.

The bragging rights of finishing the Big Burrito was captured in over 200 fan photos published to their Facebook page. The campaign was successful due to an effective social media campaign, a fresh marketing tactic, engagement with their audience base and word of mouth.
