Oporto expands into China
Oporto the Australian fast-food franchise specialising in Portuguese style chicken, burgers and a super spicy chili sauce is looking to expand beyond its 2 current stores in China with a third. The first two chinese stores are located in Xiamen city but the third store is planned for Fuzhou.
The expansion is part of the companies move to capture part of the $60 billion chinese fast food market. The chicken served in Oporto’s chinese locations is slightly different as they serve thigh fillets in their chicken burgers instead of breast fillet used in Australia. Some of the other items listed on Oporto’s chinese menu include milk tea, soft-serve ice cream, corn salad and mushroom & shirmp soup.
Within Australia a bulk of the stores are located within New South Wales but also operates upto 100 locations across Australia, New Zealand and the UK.
